Summerwood Photography

Beware, this post is picture heavy!
A few months back I had the pleasure of adding a new sponsor to my blog.
Please welcome Summerwood Photography.

31 Virginia

I had sadly neglected having had any professional photos done of our 3 boys.
So I was more than thrilled to have Ryan and Alisha do their pictures.

Ryan and Alisha are a husband and wife team and they work so well together.
I was beyond impressed with how quickly and efficiently they got the shoot done.
Of course it helped that they're our friends and our boys love them;-)

They took so many wonderful pictures that it has been hard to choose our favorites.
I love how they really captured the boys personalities!
I did pick some of the more goofy ones to show, but they are actually some of my favorite.

Be sure to stop by their site and see some more of the wonderful shots they've taken.
They do an excellent job of taking wedding photos as well as normal portraits.

Thanks you all for capturing some precious moments that we can hold on to!

Liking the New Lights! And Other Stuff Too!

It was one of those spur-of-the-moment things.
I saw these lamps on The Foundary and I had all these awesome credits to their store, soooo.

I bought them for just pennies.

I've kinda been heading a little more industrial in my decorating, so these were really the perfect touch.

I have found many cool things from The Foundary.
Just wait till you see my new "rug".
Actually don't wait.
 See it right now.

On the floor.
Look on the floor.
Theeerrre ya go! Likey? Me too.
I had have great plans to paint it like Miss Mustard Seeds.
Not today though.
Or tomorrow...
I also bought this Willow Cloche on The Foundary.
I like it too.
The message here is... whatever you get out of it.
But I like my new lights, rug and cloche.
Ahhh, there's the message!

A Quick Clock Redo

Life has been a little different for me lately and I've missed being able to remake and redo anything except my bed!

Sooo, I purchased an outdoor clock off of Joss & Main the other day with credits that I had there so it only cost me a few $.
I liked it (especially for the price) but it was a little to blah for me.

So I got out my paintbrushes. Actually the first thing I did was rub a little stain on it. I then dry brushed some black and gray acrylics on. It still wasn't quite right so I dug around and found a container of metallic glaze that the people at DecoArt had sent me for a try.
It gave it the perfect coppery look.
I love it now!
Plus, when I'm laying here watching the boys swim, then I can glance right up and see my time and temp.

Perfect.

Interested in joining Joss & Main? They have some great stuff.
Liikkkeee, all that stuff you see above! But the sales only last a few days, so don't wait to sign up! (it's free!)
Just click on the button below to get started.

Shabby Apple Giveaway!

Dresses from Shabby Apple

When I was pregnant than I saw a couple giveaways for dresses from www.ShabbyApple.com. I of course thought "I'm big as a barn, I don't need any pretty little dresses right now.". Imagine my surprise when I found out they also sell Maternity Dresses from Shabby Apple as well as little girls dresses and jewelery!

I love that their dresses and vintage style jewelry take you places around the world with just one glance.

This amazing white women's dress transported me directly to a ranch right here in good ol' Texas. Just the perfect dress for all you cowgirls just looking for that fun summer dress!

The Little Girls Dresses from Shabby Apple are just too cute for words, like the "Hibiscus" dress that I just drooled on here.
So you can imagine that I was so excited when they contacted me to do a giveaway on my humble little blog.

I chose the most gorgeous vintage style necklace to give to one lucky U.S. resident!
This amazing necklace is called "Through The Looking Glass", and is just one of the beautiful pieces they have that are inspired by Alice In Wonderland.

Our Little Boy & Another Invite

Our Little Lee is a week and a half old already. It's amazing how quickly he has captured our hearts and made us forget that we ever wanted a little girl.

I could brag and post about him (and my other two) all day long but I'll try to spare you:-)

Let us move on...

For those of you who have yet to experience the coolness of The Foundary then I am giving you another invite.
I seriously LOVE this place! You never know what in the world they will have, and the prices are great!
Best of all, they send you an email each day so that it's super easy to see what they have going on and you never miss out on a sale.
Do I sound like an infomercial? Unlike an infomercial, there is no cost at all to sign up, but once you sign up you can earn money every time someone excepts your invite. (You knew there had to be another reason I keep offering you these invites;-)

Check out The Foundary!

My Top 5 We Can Do It Cheaper Copy Picks - Pick Your Favorite!

I love seeing other bloggers recreations! It inspires me to try stuff that I wouldn't normally try.
We didn't have too many linkers this time, but we do have some good ones. Here is my top five in no particular order. Leave a comment with your number 1 pick!

1. I couldn't find another picture to show her "copy" but it really does look like it jumped right out of a Pottery Barn catalog! A Creative Beginning submitted this very pretty spring mantle.
2. Inspired by Restoration Hardware, but not ready to put out the big bucks, Harbour Breeze came up with a much cheaper version using her imagination and the help of her local RESTORE.
3. A long time follower and a very sweet and creative woman submitted this look alike inspired by Pottery Barn. Click on over to Thrifty Parsonage Living to see more of what she's done!
4. Not An Empty Room linked up this clever copy of a Pottery Barn desk. This is a perfect We Can Do It Cheaper project for anyone!
5. The Vintage Bricoleur decided that $45 was out of the question and came up with her own beautiful copy of a Restoration Hardware pillow.

Voting will be open till next Friday so be sure to let me know which one is your top pick!

The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to a great Etsy store, The Snootie Pig. Be sure to check it out!
