Goodbye....

summer.

I know summer isn't officially over, but right around this time every year something changes.

It cools off a little. (Or a lot for us since our whole summer it simmered at over 100 degrees)

The sun shifts around and falls sooner in the day.

The air gets crisper.

I feel a little sad, because as hard as I try, I can't drum up a big ol' smile at the thought of winter.

I hate being cold.

Enjoy your last few warm weeks wherever you are...

EDITED TO ADD: I know I am one of those very strange people that loves summer, heat and all!! Our summer has been one of the hottest and dryest I've seen in my 11 years of living here, but yet.... I love every bit of it!! (It helps that we have a pool to live in:-)

I will miss summer, but I enthusiastically embrace fall. I think it might be my favorite season. Right now it is 61 and rainy, wish it was heading your way!! We will enjoy the last of summer here!

All you need is a fireplace, and then you'll love winter too:)

I just enjoyed walking around the block today in this awesome weather!
So glad it's not 100 any more.

The last couple of days have been such a relief from that heat. I'm enjoying it and look forward to fall. I actually didn't sweat today for the first time in months. Yay! I like it cold so you can be cozy in your sweats and snuggle in blanket. Love that.

I enjoy the things of summer but not the heat. Fall is my favorite time but don't look forward to the winters as much. I have five more days before starting my kids back into school. Oh but those days are going to be full!

I love winter! Nothing like a cozy fire in the fireplace. And those chilly 49 degree nights! And I love to go to December camp!!!

we are just coming out of our winter and into our spring and heading towards another very hot summer, I'll think of you when I'm trying to keep cool!

Jillian, I am not sorry to see summer go this year. We have been trapped inside due to 95-100 degree temps with 100% percent humidity most of the summer.
I'm looking forward to the crisp days of autumn and the first of winter. Then, we will be able to venture outside and appreciate the glory of nature.

I can do without anymore summer. It is still over 90, so I am just dying for fall to arrive. Our evenings have been cool the last couple of nights. Sooooo nice.

Didn't your pool feel like a hot bath? Ours sure did! It's cooling off quickly with these cool nights, though. Finally!

I completely agree with you! I'm missing summer already. As soon as it hit Sept, we have been hit with rain and low temps. I need to move somewhere warmer! I felt like I had just started to thaw from last winter. ha.
