A Goodwill Treasure

Do you ever go to the Goodwill/Thrift Store and pick up a treasure that makes people look at you with following thought written on their face...
"Oh that poor dear! She has no taste! I just can't imagine what her house must look like."
And so on...

Well my last trip to the Goodwill produced a few items of this caliber, but the potential was worth every stare.

(um, I might be exaggerating a wee bit about the stares)

Here was my treasure.

Nice huh?

After slapping (and I do mean slapping) a few weak and sloppy (and I do mean sloppy) coats of paint, forgetting about it for a few days, then remembering it again and quickly (and I do...never mind) sanding it.... this was what I got.

For $2, it was worth every penny. (and stare)

Now I just got to figure out what to with it. Ideas?

Will blue jars fit in it? Silverware server? French bread? Napkins? Make me stop please... Lucky you.

Pretty! I bought one of those at Goodwill too! I made some felt tools to put in mine as a Christmas gift for our three-year-old son. I love the way yours looks painted. :)

I know this is going to seem out of place, everytime I see something new from you I still go back to one of the questions I originally had... can you share the color of paint in the beach bathroom?

Nice! Worth all the stares.

Spice jars?
Bud vases with flowers?
Bottom mounted to the wall horizontally and use as shelf + rod for hanging things with S hooks?
Silver ware and napkins?
Condiments?

Hey, way too cute. I must admit that sometimes I see a treasure in someone else's basket at the thrift store and follow them around quietly, hoping that they may change their minds and put it back! Not usually the case, tho. I like the hanging it on the way idea. I have all kinds of baskets to put stuff in. The occasion changes the items I put in them.

I have one that isn't painted. I keep napkins, and salt, pepper, and sugar (in Starbucks bottles)(just use a nail to hammer a few holes in the tops), in mine.

Haha, I had to laugh at Helen, I've done one worse, I actually asked a lady if she was for sure going to buy something at Goodwill, she just laughed and said yes. I love what you did Jill, it is beautiful! Looks awesome!
