White, Boring Or Amazing?

Ok, I got to admit I get a little bored with white kitchens. So many of them are the same thing over and over. So as I clicked through white after white kitchen on Houzz I started saving the white ones that really jumped out at me.

So if you're going to do a white kitchen, I think the main thing to remember is to add lots of textures. Check out all these pictures and tell me what you think the key is!

I love a white kitchen.
When we did our new kitchen we made it white. You can always add a pop of colour with your dishes or accessories.

I love white kitchens. In my opinion I think to keep them from becoming to stark or sterile, you must have pops of color (subtle or bold) and/or architectural character (flooring, ceiling, cabinets, etc.). When I finally redo my kitchen I am going to paint my current cabinets white or have new ones installed. Then since my floor is white I will add color to a wall and additional color will come from my dishes and stemware.

All of these kitchens are beautifully spotless! Does anyone actually cook in them?

I do love the white kitchens. If I wasn't living in a house full of men, I'd consider one.

There's great natural light in all the pictures you showed. I think that is the most important thing for any kitchen!

Love, love, love the pictures! I love that the white kitchens in all of the above pictures are at least partially deconstructed when compared to a typical American kitchen. Even the kitchens with the more traditional upper cabinets break up the monotony with glazed door fronts. We can't hide mountains of unnecessary junk behind cabinet doors. The white, deconstructed kitchen forces us to more carefully curate our space and think about what we really need and want.

Thanks for asking the question, it was fun to think about why I love these kitchens. -Just started reading and I'm glad I found your blog!

Thanks for the inspiration! Painting my kitchen cabinets is on my To Do list... I agree with you about texture being important.
