Boys Bedroom Reveal - Before & After
I've been promising that this day would come, and it finally has. Believe me, no one has been more ready for it than I!
First let me show you what the room looked like when we first looked at this house a few months back...
Not too bad, a little boring, but livable.
Now this next shot was taken just a few long weeks ago...
Finally, just today I finished that last touch (for now) and I'm ready to reveal the final look!
Ok, so it's really not that much different, but it feels different! Most of all, my little cowboy loves it!
I used my leftover material from my shams to lengthen the too-short curtains. I was very happy with how they turned out.
I may still add a few things here and there...
but for now I'll just sit back and let them drag all the toys out of the closet.
What good is a clean room anyway?
Since western/cowboy decor is not exactly "my style", I tried to mix it up a little so as not to get stuck with drab colors.
I had a super difficult time finding idea's for a "vintage cowboy" kids room that I really liked, so in the end I just went for it on my own.
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions on where anything came from then feel free to ask!

the board and batten looks great. I love the red star. It really pops against the blue. I have the same color and size one over my fireplace.
Love your details with the lanterns, cowboy hat.
Here are some more ideas if you want to tweak and personalize. How about horshoes or the idea of a branding....like maybe their names in rope form on a piece of wood that has been distressed. I love the little details that make a room.
So cute! I love the bright colors! It makes the room look so happy. The board and batten looks so nice too, did you just put it over the wall and leave the texture? I have thought of doing it before, but never quite could figure out how. Keep up the great work!
Gorgeous! I would have never thought of using turquoise for a boys room. And I have an almost identical letter B too!
Jillian, I LOVE IT... You are very talented. The colors are great. I love the Shade of blue on the walls with the olive green dresser LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!! I think my favorite is the window. I bet you did that too? Sorry you couldn't leave a comment on my post I hope its fixed! If it's not too much trouble could you try on my new post? I'm determined to figure this blogging out LOL!!!!
This looks WONDERFUL- you said it isn't changed much, but to me it looks like a completely different room- Great Job :)
Looks great and I love the color of the walls!
I did do the window art myself and it was so fun and easy! I love old windows because you have so many options. I've put a collage of pictures of my husband and I, a collection of different plant leaves and now the cowboys.
I have those same curtains in my little boys room. I tweaked them a bit. I love them :) They look good in a more adult looking room too. I'll remember that!
What a transformation! I love the window over the bed. What a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing. It looks AWESOME!
Jill- This is GREAT!!! You are simply amazing! I definetly need to have you come over and decorate for me. I love Beau's room! Great job. Gretchen
That is awesome! I love the color choices and how you lengthened the curtains! What a great idea!
It is a beautiful transformation and quite dramatic!
You made some great changes! I love the pops of colour and the board and batten looks fabulous. It is a great room for a little cowboy without being too themed.
The room looks great, lucky boys!
Where did you get the bed frame?
Wow, the room just went from sleep to EEP! The teal against the white is just way too much fun! I love the old window about the bed too, adorable. :)
Thanks for linking up to Old Windows SNS!

It was fun to see the space come together, the end result is gorgeous! I love how sophisticated the boy's space is, and so organized and clutter free to boot (pun, har har) at least until the toys come out of the closet. I'm so inspired by the diligent editing, I'll certainly continue to follow this blog for more inspiration.
I love what you have done with this room - I am a huge fan of panelled walls and your board and batten panelling has really pulled the room together. Great colour scheme too.

This is AWESOME!! My favorite part is how you added the bright walls to the western theme. It WORKED very well. This was a fun post to read because I am RIGHT in the middle of decorating all 3 of my boys' rooms.
I am spending SO much time on your blog today because you have SO much to see. :) I'm a happy new follower.
Over from Uncommon Slice. Love all your posts. You may have answered this before, but with all your paneling are you doing actual board and batten or just trim pieces with your textured wall? Love the look, just hard to tell online. Great job! Thanks for your advice.
What color is the turqoise? I LOVE it!
I love everything about your blog (and home!) I'll be sharing the green dresser on my blog soon, if that's okay with you.
Thanks!
